Course Description: Focuses on the application of the Behavior Analyst Certification Board’s Professional and Ethical Compliance Code for Behavior Analysts. Highlights a variety of real-life examples with identification of applicable code elements and options for resolution. Scenarios include the areas of child welfare, traumatic brain injury, autism spectrum disorder, applied behavior analysis clinics, controversial medical interventions, supervision and academic settings. 

Objectives: 

  • Given a scenario, participants will identify ethical violations.
  • Identify the applicable code element(s) from the Professional and Ethical Compliance Code for Behavior Analysts related to the scenario.
  • Identify possible solutions or actions given an applied scenario.

Rating: This course is recommended for BCBAs, BCaBAs or other professionals who are interested in learning about a variety of ethical dilemmas that behavior analysts sometimes face in practice, The BACB's Professional and Ethical Compliance Codes that apply to these dilemmas, and choosing the best course of action to resolve these dilemmas.

This course is eligible for BACB ethics CEs.
