Course Description: Provides a basic overview of typical antipsychotic medications used to treat symptoms of irritability in individuals diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder and typical methods of assessing irritability. Reviews responses from a 2017 survey provided to board-certified individuals regarding their typical practices regarding the monitoring of psychotropic medications in their clients. Additional considerations and strategies are also discussed.

- Describe how the Aberrant Behavior Checklist assesses for irritability and its limitations.
- Learn about typical ways board-certified individuals gain information regarding psychotropic medications.
- Describe considerations and strategies when monitoring the effectiveness of psychotropic medications.
